OKLAHOMA CITY – Five of six West Virginia University wrestlers won their NCAA tournament first round bouts in Session I at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, on March 16.
Senior Matt Lebe (157), sophomore Jared Villers (197) and freshmen Brandon Rader (141), Larry Hall (165) and Kurt Brenner (174) all won their opening bouts to wrestle in the second round of the championship bracket this evening beginning at 6:30.
Freshman David Jauregui (149) will wrestle in the evening’s consolation bracket after a first round loss.

149: Robert Sanders (Nebraska) DEC David Jauregui (WVU), 6-3
157: Matt Lebe (WVU) MAJOR Michael Savino (Brown), 11-2
165: Larry Hall (WVU) MAJOR No. 12 Marc Harwood (Nebraska), 11-3
174: Kurt Brenner (WVU) DEC Joseph Lowe (UNC-G), 5-3
197: Jared Villers (WVU) DEC Andrew Anderson (No. Iowa), 5-0
