Women's Tennis: Mountaineers Take On Marist

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team will take on Marist on Friday, March 17, at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Mountaineers (3-7, 2-2 BIG EAST) are coming off a tough loss to St. Johns on March 12, in which the Red Storm narrowly edged out West Virginia, 4-3. The Mountaineers got key victories in three singles spots from No. 1 Monica Lyskawa, No.3 Natalia Prinz and No.6 Kelly Walsh. The duo of senior Raynie Theis and Stacey Percival at No.1 singles proved victories as they won, 8-5, over Tumsevica-Adamski.
The Red Foxes (3-2) were downed 5-2 on their last outing against Albany on March 11. Marist’s Yana Tikhonko and Megan Gureck won their matches at No.2 and No.4, respectively.
This marks the first meeting between West Virginia and Marist.
