Rifle: WVU Going to Ohio State Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team travels to Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, Feb. 4, for a non-conference match at Ohio State beginning at 8 a.m.
The Mountaineers (3-6) look to surpass last year’s win total against one of the three teams they defeated in 2004-05. West Virginia beat Ohio State, 4537-4499, on Jan. 23, 2005, in Morgantown.
WVU’s season average team score is 4590.1, however, in the Mountaineers’ last three matches they scored over 4600, including a triangular meet on Jan. 21 at Akron when they beat the host Zips and Texas Christian with a score of 4603.
Ohio State is coming off a score of 4532 while placing eighth at the Roger Withrow Invitational in Murray, Ky., on Jan. 28.
