Women's Basketball: WVU 12th Seed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team has garnered the 12th and final seed in the 2006 BIG EAST tournament and will face No.5 seed Louisville, Saturday, March 4, at Noon, at the Hartford Civic Center.

The Mountaineers defeated Louisville (19-8, 10-6) earlier this season by a 99-73 margin at the WVU Coliseum in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

WVU will be making its fifth consecutive appearance in the tournament under the direction of coach Mike Carey.

WVU finished the regular season with a 12-15 mark and a 4-12 league record.
