Gymnastics: Morris Earns Fourth Rookie Award

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) today announced West Virginia University gymnast Mehgan Morris as its EAGL rookie of the week for a league-record fourth time, all coming in four consecutive weeks.
The freshman from Belle, W.Va., had a pair of second-place event finishes in West Virginia’s win over New Hampshire and William & Mary in a three-team meet on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Morris tumbled a career-high 9.9 on the floor exercise for her fourth straight floor score of at least 9.8. She also swung a 9.825 on the uneven bars for her sixth score of at least 9.8 this season.
Morris is the EAGL’s top gymnast on the uneven bars with her 9.825 regional qualifying score, which is tied for 27th in the country and is sixth in the Southeast Region.
