The
WVU Alumni Association, working with National Travel, will offer
a Gator Bowl Weekend Bash travel package for fans wanting to
attend the game. The flight will leave from Clarksburg the
morning of Dec. 30 and return Jan. 1 immediately following the
WVU-Georgia Tech game. Air packages include round trip air
transportation, appropriate in-flight services, round trip
airport/hotel transfers and baggage handling, hotel
accommodations at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville,
pre-registration of hotel rooms, baggage handling at the hotel,
reception, round trip game transfers, reserved seat game ticket,
the official Gator Bowl Patch and more.
In addition to the air packages,
National Travel will also offer a two-night and three-night
hotel land-only package. The same features apply exclusive of
air transportation, transfers and baggage handling.
"This is a great way for alumni and fans
to travel to Florida to support the Mountaineers," said Stephen
L. Douglas, president and chief executive officer, WVU Alumni
Association. "We look forward to exciting bowl trip with our
alumni and friends and hope that they will take advantage of
this wonderful opportunity."
WVU officially accepted an invitation to
play in the Gator Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 3. The game will be
televised on CBS. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
The WVU Alumni Association, working with
National Travel, has selected the Hyatt Regency as its
official headquarters. National Travel and Alumni Association
officials will also serve as travel hosts for the length of the
trip and will staff a hospitality desk at the Hyatt.
It is anticipated that these packages
may sell quickly. Alumni and friends are encouraged to register
for bowl packages by calling National Travel at
1-800-642-3603.
The dates, times and location for
WVU's popular Fan Center and other WVU bowl-related activities
will be announced later this week.
The WVU Alumni Association,
chartered in 1873, represents more than 170,000 University
