MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two more awards were collected by West Virginia University’s Dan Mozes and Steve Slaton. On Saturday the dynamic duo was named to the Football Writers Association (FWAA) All-America football team announced on ESPN.
Mozes, a senior center, and Slaton, a sophomore running back, were previously named to the Walter Camp (WCFF) and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America football teams.
The pair is closing in on consensus All-America status. Currently the NCAA recognizes the lists of All-Americans selected by the AP, AFCA, FWAA, TSN, and the WCFF to determine consensus All-Americans.
West Virginia University has had nine consensus football All-Americans in its history, the most recent being linebacker Grant Wiley in 2003. The school has never had two consensus All-Americans in the same year.
The No. 12-rated Mountaineers (10-2) are currently preparing to face Georgia Tech in the 2007 Toyota Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 1. Tickets for the game are on sale through the Mountaineer Ticket Office by calling 1-800-WVU GAME. Fans can also purchase Gator Bowl tickets online by logging onto WVUGAME.com.
