MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University swimming and diving team will travel to Huntington, W.Va., on Saturday, Nov. 4, for a quad-meet against Marshall, Duquesne and East Carolina at 12:30 p.m.
“This should be an interesting meet for us and a good test before the Maryland Invitational,” said third year coach Sergio Lopez.
The Mountaineers are coming off a very successful week in which they split their BIG EAST opener against Louisville on Oct. 28. The men (2-0, 1-0) won 13 of the 16 events and trounced the Cardinals, 194-104. The women fell in a nail biter, 160-140, but set three new school records. The women have now set nine school records in three meets so far this season.
Additionally, the men’s squad has secured the 19th spot on the Swimming World Magazine’s Dual Meet Top 25. This is the first time in the program’s history that a team has been nationally ranked.
Both teams next travel to University Park, Md., for the Maryland Invitational on Nov. 16 - Nov. 18.
