MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - In addition to being named to the NSCAA all-region team on Wednesday, seniors Jarrod Smith and Nick Noble were selected to participate in the MLS Player Combine held at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jan. 5-8.
West Virginia is one of only 11 college teams to have at least two of its players selected for this year's combine.
Noble was one of just five goalkeepers selected to the combine, while Smith is joined by 22 other forwards.

The nation’s top 58 seniors in Division I soccer were invited to participate. The two Mountaineers join former player Aaron Pitchkolan as the only WVU players to be invited. Pithckolan was invited in 2005 and has played the last two seasons for the league’s FC Dallas.
The combine is very important in getting drafted in the spring Super Draft as almost half of last year's selections participated in the three-day event. All 13 MLS coaches will be on hand to scout.
