MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team stayed in the eighth spot of the NSCAA/adidas coaches’ poll on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The Mountaineers (14-2-3) had just one match this week against Louisville in the BIG EAST quarterfinals. The game went scoreless through regulation and overtime with WVU advancing 5-4 on penalty kicks. The Cardinals did move up three spots to No. 22 in this week’s poll, however, after the game was officially recorded as a tie with the Mountaineers.
WVU dropped one spot in the Soccer America poll to No. 9 and remained ranked 10th in Soccer Buzz’s weekly poll.
The Mountaineers have now been ranked in 61 consecutive Soccer Buzz polls, good for 10th all-time. They moved ahead of UConn and UVA who are tied for 11th all-time with school best runs of 60 consecutive polls.
