Volleyball: WVU to Take on Robert Morris

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team will take on Robert Morris at 7 p.m. on Wednesday Oct. 4, at the WVU Coliseum.
WVU (1-17, 0-4 BIG EAST) is coming off a 0-3 loss at Rutgers on Oct. 1. Setter Gina Cusanelli led the Mountaineers with 11 kills. Libero Aurora Ebert-Santos totaled 14 digs while setter Kailee Goold registered 30 assists. Outsider hitter Abby Tevis and middle blocker Delie Marsonek recorded two blocks each against the Scarlet Knights.
The Mountaineers are led by Tevis’ 150 kills and 3.26 kills per game. Goold averages 8.63 kills per game while Ebert-Santos has totaled 247 digs and 4.19 digs per game. West Virginia is 14-2 all-time against the Colonials.
Robert Morris (8-11) is coming off a 1-3 loss to Dartmouth on Sept 30. The Colonials were led by senior middle blocker Jannette Schneider’s 17 kills and defensive specialist/libero Alaina Gibson’s 14 digs against the Big Green. Middle blocker/outside hitter Emily Wolthius leads the Colonials with 227 kills on the season and 3.66 kills per game. Gibson heads up the defense with 258 digs and 4.10 digs per game. Robert Morris is currently fifth in the Northeast Conference standings.
