Volleyball: WVU Set to Travel to Duquesne

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team is set to make a trip to Pittsburgh to take on Duquesne at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
The Mountaineers (2-23, 1-8) enter the match against the Dukes after a 0-3 loss to Marquette on Sunday, Oct. 22. Middle blocker Tammy Wolf led West Virginia with eight kills against the Golden Eagles while setter Kailee Goold totaled 23 assists and nine digs. Middle blocker Lisa Hough recorded three blocks in the loss. On the season, outside hitter Abby Tevis leads the WVU attack with 3.34 kills per game. Hough and Wolf also add 0.76 blocks a piece per game.
Duquesne (8-19) is coming off a 0-3 loss to Dayton on Sunday, Oct. 22. The Dukes were led by outside hitter Jessica Artman’s five kills and setter Chelsea Tillotson’s 17 assists. Libero Laura Kastein headed the defense with six kills and also recorded the team’s only ace. On the season, outside hitter Amanda Haeg heads the attack with 4.03 kills per game. Kastein adds a team-high 4.62 digs per game while middle hitter Mandy Humphrey contributes 1.06 blocks per game.
The Mountaineers lead the all-time series with the Dukes 26-13.
