Rifle: WVU Shoots With Alumni

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team enjoyed a fun afternoon of shooting with its alumni today.
“Today went very well,” says coach Jon Hammond. “This was a good little preparation for our match on Monday. It was good to see the alumni come back.”
Returning alumni were able to come back to the WVU Rifle Range today and shoot alongside current Mountaineers.
“This was a fun day and it was good to get reacquainted with people that used to be on our team,” says junior Lafe Kunkel.
Both Kunkel and senior Amy Smith agreed that shooting with former Mountaineers was a great way to start the alumni weekend.
West Virginia will open the 2006-07 season with a match against Memphis on Monday, Oct. 16, at 8 a.m., at the WVU rifle range.
