Women's Basketball: WVU Drops OT Decision

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Shantel Brown scored 17 points and Heta Korpivaara added 14 to lead Seton Hall to a 67-61 come-from-behind overtime win over West Virginia Tuesday afternoon at Walsh Gym in South Orange, N.J.
The Pirates (4-8, 1-0) erased a 29-19 halftime deficit by outscoring West Virginia (7-4, 0-1) 35-25 in the second half to tie the game in regulation 54-all. Seton Hall outscored West Virginia 13-7 in the bonus period.
Monique Blake contributed 11 points and nine rebounds to give West Virginia its second straight overtime loss in three days.
Britney Davis-White led West Virginia with 16 points. Yelena Leuchanka scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench, and Chakhia Cole had a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double.
West Virginia’s top scorer Meg Bulger finished the game with just nine points on 3 of 12 shooting. Overall, the Mountaineers were a frigid 36.4 percent from the floor.
West Virginia remains on the road at Syracuse Saturday night. That game will get underway at 7 pm.
