KENT, Ohio - The West Virginia University track team resumed action at the Black Squirrel Classic Friday, Jan. 13, at the Kent State Field House in Kent, Ohio.
Junior Abbie Stechschulte placed third in the long jump with a leap of 18’1”, while teammate Alexis Noel was fourth with a jump of 18’3/4”.
“After a long break, it’s good to get things going again,” head coach Jeff Huntoon said. “If we can equal the success that we had early in December tomorrow, then this will be a good start.”
Bucknell, Ashland, Maryland Eastern-Shore, Buffalo and Youngstown State are among the teams in attendance.
WVU placed second at the Black Squirrel Classic in 2005 behind host Kent State.
Day two of the Black Squirrel Classic is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. on Saturday, starting with the men’s triple jump.
