Football: Lewis Special Teams Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - USF's Amarri Jackson and Ben Moffitt and West Virginia's Antonio Lewis received BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday. Jackson was named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Moffitt earned conference Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Lewis received BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
Jackson, USF's sophomore wide receiver, ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to help lead the Bulls to a 45-14 victory over No. 9/8 Louisville on Sept. 24. He finished the game with 138 all-purpose yards. Jackson caught two passes for 75 yards and gained 63 yards on the ground - on touchdown runs of 51 yards and 12 yards.
In the victory over Louisville, USF sophomore linebacker Ben Moffitt anchored a Bulls' defense that held the Cardinals to their lowest scoring output since 2003. Moffitt registered 14 tackles, including two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in the victory.
WVU's Lewis returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of West Virginia's 20-15 victory over East Carolina on Sept. 24. It was the Mountaineers' first punt return for a score since Adam "Pacman" Jones accomplished the feat versus East Carolina in last season's opener.
