Volleyball: WVU Wins Pair at Blue-Green Tournament

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team won two matches Saturday, Sept. 10, defeating Morehead State 3-0 (30-21, 30-19, 32-30) and Coppin State 3-0 (30-12, 30-24, 30-14) at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, W.Va.
In the first match, the Mountaineers (6-3) had eight players registering kills in the win over Morehead State (3-5). Kelly Mullins led the pack with eight, and also contributed six digs. Aurora Ebert-Santos tallied 16 digs in the match.
In the second match, WVU defeated Coppin State (0-4) behind Mullins once again. The senior had a team-high 11 kills and 13 digs. Julie Hockenson added 10 kills, with Stephanie Zolna contributing nine.
The Mountaineers return to action when they host the WVU Classic Sept. 16-17. They take on Buffalo on Friday at 7:30 p.m and then face Duquesne at noon on Saturday, followed by the nightcap against Memphis at 8 p.m.
