MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team welcomes Toledo for a four-game series at Hawley Field on March 18-20.
The series opener is scheduled for Friday, March 18, at 3 p.m., switched from its original start time of 5 p.m. A doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, with the final contest set for Sunday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
The series with Toledo is the last non-conference game before opening BIG EAST play with Boston College next week.
Second-year skipper Cory Mee coaches Toledo as the Rockets boast an 3-8 record this season. Offensively, juniors Travis Pilewskian and Dan Strong carry .378 and .357 averages from the plate to lead the Rockets.
The Mountaineers (6-9) are led by two-time all-BIG EAST outfielder Lee Fritz. Fritz, WVU’s winner of the 2004-05 BIG EAST/Aéropostale Scholar-Athlete Award, sports a .412 batting average with 18 RBI and 35 total bases.
