PROVIDENCE, R.I. - West Virginia quarterback Pat White, Louisville linebacker Nate Harris and Connecticut punter Chris Pavasaris received BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday. White was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, while Harris earned Defensive Player of the Week honors and Pavasaris received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.
In a 28-13 win over USF on Dec. 3, White carried the ball 11 times for 177 yards (16.1 avg.) and two touchdowns. His two rushing touchdowns came on runs of 65 and 76 yards. White became the first WVU quarterback to rush for 100 or more yards in three straight games. It was his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season. White also completed 5 of 10 passes for 89 yards and one touchdown.
Harris recorded a career-high 13 tackles in Louisville's 30-20 victory at Connecticut on Dec. 3. He also registered 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble. The Cardinal defense limited the Huskies to 87 yards on the ground and forced four UConn turnovers.
Pavasaris put four of his seven punts inside the 10 yard line versus Louisville on Dec. 3, forcing the Cardinals to start drives at their own three, eight, one and 10 yard lines. His career-long punt of 60 yards was UConn's longest punt since Nov. 8, 2003.
