MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University junior center Dan Mozes was named to the Associated Press All-America second team, announced Tuesday.
Mozes, a 6-foot-3-inch, 285-pound Washington, Pa., native, helped West Virginia to a 10-1 record and a spot in the 2006 Sugar Bowl facing Georgia. The center helped pave the way for West Virginia’s rushing offense to average 265.5 yards per game to rank fifth nationally.
Minnesota senior Greg Eslinger was named to the first team as center, meaning Mozes will be a leading candidate for first-team honors as a senior in 2006.
Mozes, a two-time first-team all-Big East performer, becomes just the second AP All-American since defensive back Aaron Beasley was named to the first team in 1995. Linebacker Grant Wiley was also a first-team AP All-American in 2003.
