Women's Soccer: Hutchins Earns Academic Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University women’s soccer player Karrie Hutchins has earned ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors it was announced today.
Hutchins, a senior defender whose career was cut short when she suffered a season-ending injury in the Mountaineers’ second match of the season, was named to District II’s second team.
The Wheelilng, W.Va., native started 46 matches in the West Virginia defense and helped the Mountaineers to five-straight NCAA tournaments and one conference regular season title during her career.
Hutchins graduated as one of West Virginia’s 10 Most Outstanding Seniors (top 1% of entire senior class) with a 3.86 GPA in the spring of 2005. She is currently pursuing a master’s of professional accountacy degree.
