MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University men's swimming and diving teams received six votes by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in dual meet rankings for the 2005-06 season.
"This is a great indication of the progress of our men's team and how the coaches around the country feel that we are going in the right direction," head coach Sergio Lopez said.
Out of 34 different teams that earned votes, West Virginia ranked 29th. The CSCAA dual meet poll is an indication of a team's ability to win dual meets during the season and is not a predictor or any team's end-of-season placement at the NCAA Championships. There will be 10 dual meet polls produced every two to three weeks throughout the college swimming and diving season, which is one of the longest continuous seasons of any NCAA sponsored sport.
