Meanwhile, West Virginia offensive coordinator Calvin Magee was presented a “game ball” by the Master Coaches Survey for his involvement in the Mountaineers’ 46-44 win over the Cardinals. Each week during the 2005 season, the 16 Master Coaches award a game ball to the offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week. The Master Coaches also present game balls to the offensive and defensive coordinators whose game plans made the biggest impacts in their respective teams’ victory.
The Master Coaches Survey is an advisory poll comprised of 16 former college football coaches, including 10 College Football Hall of Fame members representing five national titles and nearly 3,000 combined victories. Former WVU coach Don Nehlen is among those involved in the weekly selection process.
