Cross Country: WVU competes at Penn State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team traveled to State College, Pa., Saturday Oct. 15, to compete in the Penn State National Invitational.
Redshirt freshman Alison Spiker finished sixth with a time of 23:51 in the women’s B race. Sophomore Nicole Lemal finished in eighth with a time of 23:54. Maria Stover was the next Mountaineer to cross the stripe at 15th, with a time of 24:07.
“This was a much improved performance compared to Notre Dame,” head coach Sean Cleary said. “The ladies looked to have more life their legs and should continue the improvement as we head into the final stages of the season.”
WVU returns to action for the BIG EAST championships on Oct. 28, in the Bronx, N.Y.
