MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University junior center Yelena Leuchanka will miss the remainder of the 2004-05 season due to a knee injury.
The 6-foot-5 Gomel, Belarus, native tore her left knee's anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in practice last Friday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
In 10 games this season, Leuchanka averaged 7.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. She ranked eighth in blocks and 13th in rebounding in the BIG EAST.
She played in just one game last season and missed all of the 2003-04 campaign after suffering a torn ACL in her right knee.
