MORGANTOWN, W.Va.- West Virginia University men's soccer midfielder Bernard Ouassa was chosen 23rd overall by the Montreal Impact on Tuesday, January 20, in the USL First Division College Draft.
"It's a great honor for Bernard to be picked," said WVU head coach Mike Seabolt. "It's a credit to the hard work he has put in at WVU over the past three years and the type of person he is."
In his three years with the Mountaineers Ouassa played in 44 matches and made 36 starts. The La Salle, Quebec, native spent his freshman season at St. John's before transferring to WVU.
Ouassa becomes only the third player in school history to play for a First Division team, which was previously named the A-League. He was also the only BIG EAST player to be drafted on Tuesday.
