Volleyball: WVU Set for Red Flash Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to St. Francis University for three matches at the Red Flash Invitational on Oct. 1-2 in Loretta, Pa.
The Mountaineers (8-6) enter the weekend with a four match winning streak after decisive victories over Columbia, Hartford, Marist and Duquesne.
West Virginia’s first place finish at last weekend’s Marist Invitational was their first tournament championship of the season. Junior Stephanie Zolna was named the tournament MVP while senior Alison Zemanski was named to the all-tournament team, her third all-tournament selection of the season.
WVU opens play at the Red Flash Invitational on Friday, Oct. 1, with a 4:30 p.m. match against Binghamton. The Mountaineers then play a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 2, with a 10 a.m. match against Canisius and a 7 p.m. match versus tournament host St. Francis.
