MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., to play Duquesne on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
The Mountaineers enter the weeknight contest with a 7-6 record to go along with a three match winning streak.
West Virginia defeated Columbia (3-0), Marist (3-1) and Harford (3-1) this past weekend at the Marist Invitational on the strength of outstanding performances from junior Stephanie Zolna and senior Alison Zemanski.
Zolna, a Mission Viejo, Calif., native, was named the most valuable player of the tournament while Zemanski, a native of Perrysburg, Ohio, was named to the all-tournament team.
WVU’s match against Duquesne is the first of four that the Mountaineers play this week. After Tuesday night’s tilt, West Virginia will take two days off before returning to the court on Friday, Oct. 1, against Binghamton at St. Francis. WVU then plays a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 2, against Canisius and St. Francis.
