Morgantown, W.Va. - The West Virginia University men's soccer team (3-2-0) travels to Storrs, Conn., for a BIG EAST match against UConn (2-3-0) Saturday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
The Mountaineers will try to keep their momentum after a 2-1 overtime victory against Marshall Wednesday, Sept. 15, at home. Senior Aaron Pitchkolan provided the game winner with 2:19 remaining in the first extra period.
In its last game the Huskies beat St. Peter's 1-0 in double overtime. UConn holds a 8-1-2 all-time record against WVU. Last year the teams tied 3-3 in Morgantown.
Both teams will shoot for their first BIG EAST win of the season as the Mountaineers dropped their first conference match to No.2 St. John's, while the Huskies have played all non-conference games thus far.
The Mountaineers return home Thursday, Sept. 23, when they host No. 9 Notre Dame at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
