MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia is ranked 11th in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, released Friday.
It is the highest ever preseason ranking for the Mountaineers in the coaches poll. West Virginia's prior high was 12th in 1998.
West Virginia is the only Big East team ranked among the Top 25. Pitt got 14 votes, Boston College received 10 votes and Connecticut earned one vote.
