Baseball: WVU Travels To Akron

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team takes to the road for a non-conference battle at Akron on Wednesday, May 19, at 6 p.m.
The Mountaineers face Akron for the fourth time in 2004, having won two of three games (7-1, 8-2, 4-8) earlier this season in Morgantown. Wednesday’s contest marks the 20th meeting all-time between the schools with WVU holding a slight 11-8 series edge.
The Zips are coming off a 4-1 victory over Eastern Michigan and sit 25-23 overall and 10-10 in the MAC on the season. Akron plays Cincinnati tonight before hosting West Virginia tomorrow evening.
West Virginia (20-28, 8-15 BIG EAST) then closes out the season with a three-game road series at Connecticut on May 22-23.
