Women's Track: Kemp Finishes 2nd at ECACs

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Jen Kemp’s second place finish in the 800-meter run Sunday helped West Virginia to a 16th place finish at the ECAC Outdoor Track Championships held at Yale’s Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex this weekend.
West Virginia tied James Madison for 16th place with 21 team points. Pitt won the meet with 92.20 points.
Kemp crossed the finish line in a time of 2:09.76, nearly a second behind Georgetown’s Maura McCusker’s time of 2:08.97.
Also scoring points for the Mountaineers were Tara Struyk in the 5,000 meter run, Jessica Czaikowski in the 100 meter hurdles and Pam Richardson in the 400 meter hurdles.
Struyk placed fourth in the 5,000 with a time of 16:35.41, Czaikowski finished fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.95 and Richardson also placed fifth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.64.
West Virginia returns to action on May 27-29 at Gainesville, Fla., for the NCAA Regional meet.
