MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team (8-5, 2-3) hosts BIG EAST foe Syracuse (6-11, 4-2) on Friday, April 9, at the Pittsburgh YMCA in Pittsburgh.
The Mountaineers enter Friday’s conference contest with a two match losing streak following last weekend’s losses to Rutgers (5-2) and Seton Hall (4-3). The Orangewomen enter Friday’s contest fresh off a 5-2 BIG EAST victory over St. John’s on April 4.
West Virginia senior Courtney Howell injured her ankle in last weekend’s match against Seton Hall but is expected to be close to 100% for tomorrow’s contest.
“We have had a great week of practice and are looking forward to getting back onto the court,” coach Dan Silverstein says. “We suffered two losses last weekend that could have gone either way. If we continue to give the effort we have given thus far, we are confident that we will begin to come out on top.”
Friday’s match is scheduled to get underway at approximately 11 a.m.
