MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team resumes BIG EAST play with a three-game series at Villanova, on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18. First pitch on both days is set for noon.
The Mountaineers swept the Wildcats in a three-game series, in 2003, in Morgantown. The last time WVU traveled to Villanova was in 2002 when the Wildcats swept a two-game series from West Virginia, at Richie Ashburn field. This will be WVU’s first trip to the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth, the school’s new baseball stadium that opened in 2003.
West Virginia (8-20, 1-9) leads the all-time series against Villanova (19-12-1, 3-7) by a 14-6 margin. The series began in 1996 when WVU became a member of the BIG EAST conference.
WVU next travels to Duquesne for a non-conference midweek game on Tuesday, April 20, at 3 p.m.
