Gymnastics: Cox Competes at NCAAs

LOS ANGELES – West Virginia University freshman gymnast Janáe Cox tallied a 38.875 all-around score in the first session of the NCAA Championships today at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion, concluding the Mountaineer gymnastics season.
Cox, the 2004 East Atlantic Gymnastics League rookie of the year, was competing with Georgia and scored a 9.7 on vault, a 9.775 on uneven bars, a 9.725 on balance beam and tallied a 9.675 on floor exercise.
An Otisco, Ind., native, Cox qualified as an individual all-around competitor for the National Championship via a fifth place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Raleigh, N.C., earlier this month.
