MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's soccer team will continue its spring season on Sunday, April 4, when they travel to Germantown, Md., to participate in the Kicks Against Breast Cancer Classic at the South Germantown Soccerplex.
The Mountaineers will play games against fellow 2003 NCAA tournament participants Navy and Ohio State. West Virginia will take on Navy at 10:30 a.m., and OSU, whom WVU defeated 3-0 to advance to the Sweet 16 in the fall, at 2 p.m., that same day.
"We are really excited not only for the chance to play against to two strong programs, but also for the opportunity to bring light to the importance of the fight against breast cancer," says head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown.
Last weekend, WVU went 2-1 at the Mountain State tournament. The Mountaineers defeated N.C. State and the Roanoke Stars, but fell to Wake Forest.
West Virginia will continue to raise awareness for breast cancer when they play host to the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center Soccer Invitational on Saturday, April 24 at both Mountaineer Field and WVU's practice field.
