The Mountaineers take on the Bobcats again on Wednesday and Thursday, March 10-11, with first pitch slated for 3 p.m.
“It will be good to play a home game after playing eight on the road,” says head coach Greg Van Zant. “We’ve had kind of a rough start but hopefully Hawley Field will be friendly to us this week. The series with Quinnipiac will be difficult and the team looks forward to playing in our home debut.”
West Virginia looks to end a seven-game losing streak, the longest since the team lost seven straight games to open up the 2000 season. WVU is 28-5 all-time is home openers at Hawley Field which opened in 1971.
The Mountaineers next face Stony Brook this weekend for a pair of 1 p.m. doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11.
