Gymnastics: No. 23 Mountaineers Travel to Pitt

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University gymnastics team (10-6-1) travels to Pitt (10-6-1) on Tues., March 9, for a 1 p.m., meet with the Panthers and James Madison at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Mountaineers, ranked 23rd in this week's GymInfo poll, and the Panthers meet for the second time this season. Earlier in the year, West Virginia and Pitt battled to a 195.3 tie at the Coliseum. WVU will face James Madison for the first time in 2004.
West Virgina leads the all-time series with the Panthers by a 31-12-2 count. The Mountaineers are a perfect 16-0-0 in series competition with James Madison.
In addition to West Virginia's appearance in the latest Top 25, Mountaineer Janáe Cox is ranked 22nd in the nation with a 39.385 RQS in the all-around. As a team, West Virginia is the nation's 22nd-best team on vault, boasting a 49.065 RQS on the apparatus.
Head coach Linda Burdette enters the competition with 497 victories, three shy of becoming only the third coach in WVU history to earn 500 wins in his or her career.
