MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University gymnastics team (10-4-1) travels to N.C. State's Reynolds Coliseum for a tri-meet with the Wolfpack and fellow EAGL member North Carolina on Friday, March 5, at 7 p.m.
The Mountaineers are looking to build on their 195.975 road score last weekend at Michigan State. Freshman Janáe Cox paced West Virginia in that meet, winning the all-around competition with a 39.5.
WVU owns a16-6 all-time record in meets with N.C. State. The two schools met earlier this year at the Coliseum with West Virginia edging the Wolfpack 196.25-193.275.
The Mountaineers are 17-8-0 all-time against North Carolina. WVU and UNC last met at the 2003 EAGL championships. North Carolina scored a 196.025 to place third in the meet while West Virginia finished in sixth place with a 195.65.
Head coach Linda Burdette enters Friday's competition with 497 career wins, three shy of becoming only the third coach in WVU history to win 500 contests.
