Gymnastics: Bars, Vault in Top 25

March 2, 2004 MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University gymnastics team (10-4-1) is ranked nationally on bar and vault according to the latest GymInfo poll.
March 2, 2004 MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University gymnastics team (10-4-1) is ranked nationally on bar and vault according to the latest GymInfo poll.
The Mountaineers team bar RQS of 48.915 puts them in a tie for 23rd with Kentucky. WVU's RQS of 49.030 in vault competition puts them just in front of the Wildcats at 19th for the event.
This is the first time this season that either event score has been ranked in the top 25 since switching from team high scores to RQS.
Also finding herself in the Top 25 individually is freshman Janae Cox. The Otisco, Ind., native is currently ranked 24th in the nation by GymInfo in all-around competition, with an RQS of 39.305.
Cox and the rest of the Mountaineers head to Raleigh, N.C., this Friday for a quad meet against N.C. State, North Carolina and Ball State. Competition begins at 7 p.m.
