Men's Basketball: WVU to Face Kent State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's basketball team will travel to Kent, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 17 to face Kent State in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
The winner of the WVU-Kent State game will play the winner of Boston University-Rhode Island on Friday at a site to be determined.
"We're thrilled to continue our season and honored to be selected to play in the NIT," says WVU head coach John Beilein. "It's another step in the right direction for our men's basketball program."
The Mountaineers (15-13) and Golden Flashes (22-8) will be meeting for the first time in series play.
This will be WVU's 14th appearance in the NIT tournament and first under John Beilein. The Mountaineers last appeared in the NIT during the 2001 season.
