Women's Basketball: Alumni Game Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University’s women’s basketball team is welcoming back former Mountaineers to take part in the team’s alumni game this Saturday, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum. The Mountaineers take on Syracuse at 7 p.m.
Thirty former West Virginia University players will be on hand for the event and will be recognized during the WVU-Orangewomen game. Fourteen of those former Mountaineers will take part in the alumni game which will feature two 10 minute halves in the contest.
Playing on the blue team will be Debbie Blazek-Smith (1992-1995), Sara Roberts (1974-77), Grace Carson (2001-03), Monique McCoy (1996-98), Lana Whitehead (1999-2001), Alisha Bogan (2001-02) and Eartha White (2002-03).
Playing on the gold team will be Talisha Hargis (1995-98), Christin Annie (1998-2000), Jean Mewshaw (1975-79), Jess Fisher (2003), Lisa Szymczak-Klenner (1993-96), Kathryn Ball-Huff (1979-82) and Christie Lambert (1995, 1997-1999).
Former Mountaineer head coach Kittie Blakemore, the winningest coach in Mountaineer women’s basketball history, will also be on hand for the festivities.
The Mountaineer ticket office and gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and tickets, good for both the alumni and Mountaineer versus Syracuse games, are $5 per adult, $3 for youths under 18 and $2 for groups of 10 or more.
