MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mountaineer Athletic Club is giving you the opportunity to permanently etch your name as part of the Mountaineer family.
West Virginia University supporters can now have their name, or that of a family member, permanently associated with the tradition of Mountaineer athletics by purchasing an engraved brick to be placed outside the WVU Coliseum Blue Gate entrance.
Space has been allocated for 4,200 bricks for all visitors to view.
The price of a single brick is just $100 and a special keepsake brick is available for an additional $50 each.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is currently in the midst of a $7 million project to upgrade the WVU Coliseum, constructing new locker rooms for men’s and women’s basketball, a new players’ lounge, a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning center, an expanded equipment area, and club area/hospitality rooms.
“West Virginia basketball has a solid tradition, but its facilities have not kept pace with those of other Big East teams,” says West Virginia University men’s basketball coach John Beilein. “A new locker room setup, improved study and lounge areas for the players and a modern team video theatre will bring Mountaineer basketball back in step with our competitors and give us the resources necessary to compete for Big East and national titles.”
All proceeds from the Coliseum Brick Project will directly benefit renovations and upgrades to the WVU Coliseum.
