Gymnastics: Bartgis EAGL Gymnast of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Senior Jessica Bartgis has been named EAGL Gymnast of the week the league announced today.

Bartgis, a Frederick, Md., native led the Mountaineers (7-3-1) to the fifth-highest team score in school history with a 196.725 last weekend against Cornell.

It is Bartgis' first EAGL gymnast of the week award.

Bartgis guided the Mountaineers to a victory over visiting Cornell with the first perfect 10.0 of her career as she won the vault competition. Her efforts helped the Mountaineers set a record on the apparatus with their 49.475 team score.

Bartgis also tied for first place on bars with a 9.85 and took third place on beam (9.875). She also finished fifth on floor exercise with a 9.725.
