MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The BIG EAST conference announced today that the January 5 West Virginia at Villanova game and the February 9 Providence at West Virginia game will now be televised by ESPN Classic.
Both games, originally not scheduled for television, are a part of ESPN Classic's plan to televise a live Wednesday game-of-the-week during conference play with a "retro look" to the broadcast. The WVU-Villanova game will remain at 7:30 p.m., while the Providence-WVU home game has been moved from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
ESPN Classic reaches 55 million homes via basic cable, digital cable, sports tiers, DirecTV and Dish Network.
Starting with the North Carolina State game on January 2, the Mountaineers will have their final 18 regular season games on live television.
