Swimming & Diving: WVU Heads to Notre Dame Invite

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University swimming and diving teams head to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational at the Rolfs Aquatic Center, Dec. 2-4.
Preliminaries and finals will be swam each of the three days beginning at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
WVU will face 13 opponents during the three-day event. Teams participating in the meet include: Notre Dame (M/W), Bowling Green (W), Columbia (M), Denison (M/W), Denver (M/W), Hillsdale (W), Indianapolis (M/W), Northern Michigan (W), Saint Louis (M/W), Shippensburg (M/W), Truman State (M/W), Wisconsin-Green Bay (M/W) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (M/W).
Both the Mountaineer men and women will be looking forward to gettting back into the pool as they have not had a competition since Nov. 13, when both teams defeated Xavier and fell to Western Kentucky.
In that meet freshman Pablo Marmolejo led the men and freshman Tina Gabrilo paced the women. Marmolejo won the 100 free (9:57.90) and the 200 free events (1:54.34), while Gabrilo captured titles in the 200 IM (2:09.29) and 200 back (2:08.14).
