PROVIDENCE-- West Virginia running back Kay-Jay Harris was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four times to lead the Mountaineers to a 42-21 win over Temple. Boston College's Brian Toal and Diamond Ferri of Syracuse shared defensive honors, while Collin Barber of Syracuse was chosen as Special Teams Player of the Week. Harris (Tampa, Fla.) ran for two scores and caught two touchdown passes in a 42-21 win over Temple on Saturday. It is the third time this season in which he has garnered Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Mountaineer senior ran for 68 yards on 13 carries, scoring on runs of two and four yards. Harris also caught two passes for 34 yards, pulling in scoring strikes of five and 29 yards. It is the second time this season he has scored four touchdowns in a game - the first time coming on Sept. 4 versus East Carolina. Toal (Wycoff, N.J.) wins defensive honors for the first time in his young career, after leading the Eagle defense in Boston College's 21-10 victory over Rutgers. The true freshman linebacker had a career-high 15 tackles, including 12 solo stops. Toal also registered two tackles for a loss. Ferri (Everett, Mass.) notches his second defensive accolade of the season, helping lead the Orange to a 38-31 double-overtime victory versus Pittsburgh. The senior strong safety made 12 total tackles, 10 solo stops and also forced a fumble. Ferri helped make the defensive play of the game in the second overtime, assisting on a tackle on fourth down to stop Pittsburgh inches short of a first down and end the contest. Barber (Lexington, Kent.) earns special team honors for the first time this season. The senior placekicker, who was benched for last week's game versus Connecticut, returned to action after Brendan Carney, SU's regular punter, missed a 32-yard field goal against Pittsburgh. After missing from 48 yards earlier in the game, Barber went on to kick a 27-yard field goal with 1:11 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. He also converted all four of his extra point attempts.
