MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia (7-1, 3-0) plays host to Temple (1-7, 0-3) in a 1 pm Big East game on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium (60,000). There will be no live television for the game.

It is homecoming on the WVU campus. Candidates for homecoming are: Amanda Archer (New Martinsville); Sara Besche (Georgetown, Del.); Tiffany Johnson (Chesapeake, Va.); Rebecca Orr (Martinsburg); and Kristin Shallenberger (Connellsville, Pa.).
Candidates for homecoming king are: Daniel Farkas (Clifton, N.J.0; Bobby Hazelwood (Lindside); John Racelis (Morgantown); David Sella-Villa (Morgantown); and Christopher Williamson (Dingess).
Here is Saturday’s Countdown to Kickoff:
10 – West Virginia has had nine scoring drives lasting TEN plays or longer. The Mountaineers’ longest scoring drive this season covered 14 plays against James Madison and resulted in a one-yard Jason Colson touchdown run.
9 – West Virginia is riding a NINE-game home win streak and a NINE-game Big East win streak heading into Saturday’s game against Temple. West Virginia’s last Big East loss came against Miami last season.
8 – Mountaineer quarterback Rasheed Marshall ranks EIGHTH among all Big East rushers with an average of 63.1 yards per game. Both quarterbacks playing Saturday rank among Big East rushing leaders: Temple’s Walter Washington is seventh with an average of 64.2 yards per game.
7 – West Virginia ranks SEVENTH in the nation in team passing efficiency with a rating of 160.46 heading into Saturday’s game against Temple.
6 – Junior safety Mike Lorello has had at least one tackle for a loss in SIX games so far this year and shows nine for the season. Last year, Lorello had 13 tackles for losses and has accumulated 23 for his career.
5 – West Virginia has had FIVE scoring players covering 50 yards or longer so far this season. They are: Pac-Man Jones 76-yard punt return against East Carolina, Kay-Jay Harris 76-yard touchdown run against East Carolina, Chris Henry 60-yard touchdown catch against East Carolina, Brandon Myles 57-yard touchdown catch against Central Florida and Kay-Jay Harris 51-yard touchdown run against East Carolina.
4 – Sophomore running back Jason Colson has FOUR 100-yard rushing games this year including three in a row. Colson has topped the 100-yard mark against Centr4al Florida (108), Connecticut (111), Syracuse (113) and Rutgers (103).
3 – West Virginia’s offense has just a 33 percent success rate on THIRD down this year, making 32 of 96 THIRD down attempts. The Mountaineer defense has allowed opponents to convert 37 percent of its THIRD-down tries (50 of 134).
2 – West Virginia has failed to score in the red zone only TWICE so far this year. The Mountaineers have a 92.8-percent success rate in red zone chances this year (26 of 28). Twenty three of those 26 conversions are touchdowns.
1 – Temple has defeated West Virginia just ONCE in Morgantown in Big East play. That lone victory came in 2001, a 17-14 verdict.
