MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia (8-1, 4-0) plays host to Boston College (6-2, 2-1) in a noon Big East game on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium (60,000) in Morgantown. ABC (Gary Thorne, Ed Cunningham and Dr. Jerry Punch) will provide television coverage.

Saturday’s game represents the final home game for 22 Mountaineer seniors: Lawrence Audena, Jeff Berk, Tim Brown, Brad Cooper, Scott Fleming, Scott Gyorko, Charles Hales, Jason Hardee, Kay-Jay Harris, Miquelle Henderson, Mike Henshaw, Mo Howard, Eddie Jackson, Hikee Johnson, Adam Lehnortt, Freddie Little, Ben Lynch, Rasheed Marshall, John Pennington, Ryan Thomas, Mike Watson and Jerry White.
They have forged a combined record of 28-18 heading into the BC game, and were part of the 2000 Music City, 2002 Continental Tire and 2004 Toyota Gator Bowl squads.
Saturday’s game has been announced a sell out.
Here is Saturday’s Countdown to Kickoff:
10 – West Virginia has now had TEN scoring drives lasting TEN plays or longer this season. The Mountaineers had a season-high 14-play scoring drive in the James Madison game.
9 – West Virginia has had NINE plays covering 50 yards or longer this season. Five of those nine plays have gone for touchdowns.
8 – This year represents the 28th time West Virginia has won at least EIGHT football games in a season. Three of those EIGHT-plus-win years have come under Coach Rich Rodriguez.
7 – West Virginia has won SEVEN times in football games televised on ABC. The Mountaineers hold a 7-14 all-time record on the network.
6 – The West Virginia defense has forced SIX turnovers in its last three games against Syracuse (one), Rutgers (four) and Temple (one). This year West Virginia is plus-eight in turnover margin.
5 – FIVE members of the West Virginia football family have or will have celebrated birthdays this week: Football Administrator Mike Kerin (Nov. 10); Dwayne Thompson (Nov. 10); Video Coordinator Dusty Rutledge (Nov. 13); Miquelle Henderson (Nov. 16); Mike Dent (Nov. 17).
4 – West Virginia has the nation’s FOURTH-ranked rushing offense averaging 260.6 yards per game. The Mountaineers have rushed for more than 200 yards seven times this season.
3 – West Virginia owns a perfect 10-0 record in the month of November during the last THREE seasons under Coach Rich Rodriguez. In 2002, WVU went 4-0 in the month of November and last year the Mountaineers were 5-0. Last week, West Virginia defeated Temple 42-21 to start off November in 2004.
2 – West Virginia has won TWO of the last three games against Boston College since Coach Rich Rodriguez took over the Mountaineer program in 2001. West Virginia downed the Eagles, 35-28 in Chestnut Hill last year and won 24-14 in Morgantown in 2002. During Rodriguez’ first season in 2001, BC claimed a 34-10 decision. BC coach Tom O’Brien is 3-4 in seven games against West Virginia.
1 – West Virginia quarterback Rasheed Marshall has managed to throw for more than 200 yards in a game just ONCE so far this season. Marshall completed 14 of 18 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns in a win at Central Florida on Sept. 11. For the year, Marshall has completed 98 of 158 pass attempts for 1,386 yards and 17 touchdowns.
