Volleyball: Zemanski Earns BIG EAST Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball player Alison Zemanski has been named BIG EAST player of the week for her efforts in four matches this past week.
The senior middle blocker led the Mountaineers to a 4-0 record last week with victories over Duquesne, Binghamton, Canisius and St. Francis. Zemanski helped WVU win the Red Flash Invitational, their second tournament title in as many weeks.
The Perrysburg, Ohio, native averaged 4.25 kills per game, registered 73 points and hit .462 in four matches last week. She also posted an average of 1.16 blocks and had a total of 16 digs.
Zemanski had at least 10 kills in each match with her top performance coming against Binghamton where she finished with a .706 hitting percentage with no errors and nine blocks.
The Mountaineers, winners of seven straight, return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 5, for a 7 p.m. match at Marshall.
